Congratulations to Year 10 student Olivia at Woodville High School on her outstanding success in the 2025 Tax, Super + You Competition, run by the Australian Taxation Office.
In the senior category, students were invited to creatively explain how superannuation in Australia works for young people. They could choose any format, such as a story, video, animation, game or artwork, as long as it demonstrated clear understanding, creativity and relevance. Olivia’s entry stood out for its originality, strong communication and accurate explanation of superannuation, meeting the key criteria used by the judges.
Her work earned her national recognition as one of only three senior winners across Australia, and the only winner from South Australia. As part of her prize, Olivia received $1,000 for herself and $1,000 for Woodville High School, highlighting both her individual achievement and the positive impact her efforts have on our school community.
The Tax, Super + You program aims to build financial understanding in young Australians, helping them learn how tax and superannuation support everyday life and prepare them for future work. Olivia’s success reflects the strong focus at Woodville High School on developing financial literacy, critical thinking and creative problem solving.
To celebrate this achievement, Olivia was formally presented with her award by Principal Anna Mirasgentis and Mathematics, Science and Numeracy Leader, Elijah Kopsaftis. Their presentation recognised not only her talent and hard work, but also the pride she brings to the school through her dedication and initiative.
We are incredibly proud of Olivia and the example she sets for her peers. Her success demonstrates what is possible when students engage deeply with their learning and embrace opportunities to think creatively and independently.
Congratulations, Olivia. You have made our Woodville community proud.
