Our Woodville students recently took mathematics beyond the classroom by applying Pythagoras Theorem to real ASX200 market data. By analysing market swings and representing them as right-angled triangles, students explored how time, price and patterns can align in the real world.

This hands-on inquiry strengthened critical thinking, problem solving and financial literacy, while building key dispositions such as resilience, curiosity and confidence. Students embraced the challenge, collaborated with peers, and discovered how mathematical reasoning can uncover hidden connections in financial markets.
