Year 10 English students in Mrs Edmonds’ class are honing their empathy and critical thinking skills through an engaging short-form documentary project. By exploring real-world social issues such as climate change, ocean pollution, and censorship, students are not only developing their research, storytelling, and filmmaking abilities, but also learning to consider diverse perspectives and navigate moral dilemmas with ethical care. This authentic and purposeful unit has significantly deepened student engagement and understanding, empowering learners to connect their educational experiences with matters important to their lives and communities.
