On 12 August, a group of our Year 9 students participated in the Girls in Property Program, run by the Property Council of Australia. The initiative introduced students to the dynamic world of the built environment and showcased the diverse career opportunities available in property, construction, planning, and urban design.

Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive workshops, site visits, and discussions with female leaders who are shaping South Australia’s property and infrastructure landscape. These experiences helped students see how their interests and skills could translate into future careers while also challenging stereotypes in traditionally male-dominated fields.

The program builds Respect through engaging with industry role models, Responsibility by encouraging students to take ownership of their career pathways, and Resilience as they step out of their comfort zones to explore new industries. By highlighting the importance of innovation and sustainability in property development, the initiative also helped students recognise how careers in this sector directly impact communities, cities, and future ways of living. Many students walked away inspired by the opportunities in the property industry and motivated to pursue pathways that align with their values and aspirations.
