June is Pride Month and at Woodville High School we have a number of students for whom this is important. Pride stands for “Promote Respect, Inclusion and Dignity for Everyone”. At the beginning of this month Amy Patyi created a Pride wall in her dance classroom, where students can come and take selfies and write messages of love and support.
This has been a tremendous success and the number of students who have come down to the building at recess and lunch has been so powerful. Not all have left messages but those that have, have demonstrated the very embodiment of respect that we promote as important as a school community.
A small group of students have also started to take ownership in welcoming others and promoting positive self-talk.
