Woodville High School was excited to offer our students the opportunity to attend the Inspiring Australians Student Summit. This event focused on promoting wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, neurodiversity, body image, respectful relationships, cyber concerns, and student voice. These topics were vital to young people and helped shape their future learning paths, empowering them to envision what we, as Australians, can achieve at our best.
The Summit inspired and uplifted students by sharing the powerful stories and experiences of distinguished guest speakers who embodied the values of dedication, compassion, and community involvement. This year’s lineup included:
- Taryn Brumfitt, 2023 Australian of the Year, who shared her insights on body positivity and self-acceptance.
- Tim Jarvis AM, 2024 Australian of the Year SA, known for his environmental advocacy and adventurous spirit.
- Bernie Shakeshaft, 2020 Australian of the Year – Local Hero, who discussed his work with at-risk youth.
- Tiahni Adamson, 2024 Young Australian of the Year SA, a passionate advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental sustainability.
These speakers left a lasting impact on our students, inspiring them to pursue their passions and contribute positively to their communities.
