The 2023 student prefects have been delivering projects and programs throughout the year, establishing partnerships within and outside the school community and listening to the voice of our students. Our Student Prefects are actively involved in school decision making through the various school committees relating to the Strategic Direction of the School, Learning, Wellbeing and Co-Curricular. The Learning Portfolio recently presented at a Staff Meeting their ‘brain break’ cards which provide ideas and examples of activities teachers can use during their lessons. The Environmental Portfolio has been liaising with maintenance, our Business Manager and DfE to acquire and allocate general waste and recycling bins throughout the school, as well as providing an educational resource to accompany the new stations. The Wellbeing Portfolio are being trained as Peer Mentors, ready for next year’s House System introduction as well as supporting Bullying, No Way Day in week 4. The Music Captains continue to provide wonderful music offerings during their lunchtime concert series as well as hosting and holding numerous co-curricular events. Our Head and Deputy Prefects at Senior and Middle Years actively support and encourage the prefects and captains to strive for agency in every part of their school lives.
