Each term we focus on an activity to build community within our house system and support local external organisations and charities.
This term, students will be working to raise the highest number of donated cans of food in their House Groups. Houses will compete with one another to collect the highest number of donations throughout the term, and then use these cans to create a sculpture that best represents their House motto and values. The sculptures will be designed and created by student house leaders in the Week 10 THRIVE lesson, whilst students engage in House related competitions based on their personal interests to gain House points. Each of the sculptures will be evaluated by the Principal and the winning House will receive 150 points towards the House Shield.
As parents we would love your help in contributing any donations of canned goods. Please have your children drop off the cans to our Wellbeing Hub
- During term 3 House Groups will individually collect canned food donations from students in HG
- Week 9 THRIVE lesson: student leaders from each HG collect all the cans and create a sculpture that represents the house (e.g. values, mascot etc). ALL houses build their structure on the Volleyball courts near the tree.
- Remaining students participate in chosen house competitions.
- At the end of THRIVE (approximately 10:15) students are able to walk through and look at their house sculpture.
- Our Principal to present the award for house with best sculpture
- The cans will be donated to a local charity to supply food for those doing it tough in these challenging economic times.
