On Thursday 8 August, the artwork ‘Youth Mosaic: Expressions of Community’ was launched. The group of students who initially engaged with primary schools attended the event to represent Our Woodville. This event highlighted the journey and impact of their initiatives, culminating in the completed work. The students took the lead in delivering speeches, sharing their reflections on the experience and their roles as leaders.
The launch event also served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections among local schools. Students from Our Woodville, Brompton Primary School and Woodville Gardens Primary School brainstormed themes that are important to them, guiding the direction of the next project which will include Woodville HS, Kilkenny PS, Woodville gardens PS, Woodville PS, Allenby Gardens PS, Brompton PS, Pennington PS, Immaculate Heart PS.
Arndale has committed to continuing the project, and four new schools have joined for the next phase. We eagerly anticipate the growth of partnerships among local schools and the outcomes of the next youth-led mural project.
