Parents and students may be aware of changes to university entry last year. In response to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding Covid-19, Adelaide University and the Australian National University in Canberra announced alternative entry pathways into some courses in 2021 based on students’ 2019 Year 11 results. Students whose applications are successful received early conditional offers in September 2020. The universities have announced that this scheme will continue for 2021 graduates.

However, students are advised that this reassurance should not turn into relaxation. Some Year 12 requirements do still apply, and the alternative entry is not available for all courses. The traditional ATAR and subject-based entry pathways are still available, so it’s definitely in student’s best interests to continue giving their 2021 studies their full effort.
