On the 11th of June, the year 8/9 Woodville High School Netball team took to the court and were very successful in the first round of the 2021 Inter-school Knockout Competition. This year’s team consisted of these players: Matilda Martin, Sinead Wunderer, Lyla Muir, Calee Dirksen, Aysha Woolford, Amanda Thorn, Charlie Mazey, Zakiyah Mueller, Frances Fielke and Victoria Matheson, and were coached by Ms Morgan Murphy.
The first win of the day was against Underdale High School, with the score being finalised as 44-7. The second game that took place this round was against some very tough competitors at Paralowie High School. The comeback made by the girls at Woodville was one for the ages, after trailing behind for almost the whole game, the third and fourth quarter was where it all turned around. After great performances by each of the girls, Paralowie just couldn’t keep up with the speed that these girls were playing at. The final score was 27-19. The Woodville girls are very excited and awaiting the next round of Knockout Netball 2021.
