For many refugees, their journey doesn’t end when they reach Australian shores. Upon arrival they often have to grapple with a sense of belonging in a new and foreign country.
As part of #refugeeweek our students were joined by Manal Younus and Joe Szakacs MP to explore what it means to be a refugee in Australia. They shared stories of personal experiences which helped to define a common understanding of what it means to be a refugee. The amazing session culminated in a poem that highlights what it collectively means to be a refugee and a student of Woodville High School.
